Wordless Wednesday: Those Eyes

She's Gone.

My mom that is. She left yesterday to go back to Minnesota. After 2 1/2 months staying with us here in Indianapolis, she left. My Dad was missing her deeply (they are SO close), her Dad needed her and her two grandkids in Minnesota needed to see their Grandma Kac. That doesn't make this any easier on me, though. I miss her more than I thought I would. I truly cherish the time she spent here and the time she was able to get to know Fletcher. It was truly a joy.

I love her, Matt loves her, Fletcher loves her and my dog Tallulah really loves her. She has been moping around since my Mom left. They slept in the same room every night and my pup is really sad looking!

I can't wait to see her in February (hopefully) and for sure at Easter time! I hope time goes fast, but until then I am going to enjoy time with my ever growing family. It has helped me realize that someday I would like to end up back in Minnesota. Having my husband, children and the rest of my family all together is a dream. Luckily I have a great husband who supports me. He is amazing.

Until then, thanks Grandma Kac for spending time here and getting to know your grandchild. We all miss you dearly.

Oh, and Fletcher. Why do you decide to be EXTRA crabby today when Mommy is alone? Ohhhh, you miss Kac. Yeah, I get it. :)

Lazy Day

Today I was going to meet my brother for lunch, but snow decided for me that it was going to happen. It would have been nice to see my brother, but a lazy day was needed. My mom is still here visiting until Sunday so I have taken full advantage of her and her need for cuddling Fletcher. This afternoon Fletcher was sound asleep on my mom and making those cute whimpering sounds, and we tried to get it on video. My mom is not the most techno-savvy person so most of the video was of Fletcher's chubby cheek. Recording a sleeping baby is NOT what happened.

Here is what was happened when the camera started!

Pain

I am having some lower abdomen pain today. I had a bit yesterday, but today it is a little worse. There isn't any bleeding (TMI, I know!) but it is definitely there. It probably doesn't help that yesterday I was poking around down there to check for hernias or that I just gave birth four short months ago. I can deal with pain as long as my little nugget is doing okay. I am hoping it is just stretching and pulling from a growing baby. Being only 8 weeks I am still on edge. Just hoping and praying for no bleeding! Fletcher really wants to be a big brother! I am going to try and relax. Maybe go shopping. Yes, that always helps! :)

I know this post wasn't wordless, but I thought I would still follow suit and post a picture of my main little man!

His four month picture! Man, he's big!

My Loud Pooper!

My son doesn't do anything quietly. You would think he had rock hard rabbit poops, but no, they are normal. He's just loud and wants to be heard! What a stinker (indeed).

Utterly Exhausted

Fletcher was sleeping through the night for over a month, but things changed about a week or two ago. He is getting teeth, actually he is getting three teeth and they are causing him some pain. This pain wakes him up early, and keeps him from falling asleep again at night. Sunday we had a new record for a wake up time. 3:30, yes 3:fricken30. No, don't get me wrong, I LOVE my morning time with Fletcher, but 3:30? Not so much. Let me just say by nine last night I felt like I was getting sick from lack of sleep.

We do have some good news though. Fletcher slept in until eight this morning. EIGHT!!! Now, he did get up at two and five but after a bit of soothing he was back down for the count. Thanks little buddy for letting Mommy sleep until eight. It was awesome of you! Can we have a repeat tonight? I will buy you a toy.

Five Question Friday: Christmas!

1. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

In my family growing up we always opened up our gifts Christmas Eve and I loved that! I am not sure what we are going to do this year, but I am going to try and talk Big Papa into doing it Christmas Eve. Pllllllllease?! ;)

2. What is your favorite Christmas cookie (or candy)?

All of my Mom's! Really though, I would have to say haystacks. Yum.

3. What's the worst Christmas gift you've ever received?

Hmm, I really don't know. Probably an ugly shirt from a relative, but even then I don't know if that truly happened. My family is always really good at giving gifts you like!

4. Christmas song that you love?

"All I Want For Christmas Is You", and MANY more!

5. How many trees do you put up?

One big one and one smaller one that my dad bought me years ago. I love them both! Next year we would like to do another one in the den as well! :)

Birthdays

Do not hold the same excitement they did when I was a child. It is just another day and another year older. Although, my child has put numerous smiles on my face today (as has my hubby) and that is all I could hope for on this birthday.

I am so lucky.

Even Though I Am Exhausted

This boy cracks me up and makes everything okay. He's hilarious and I love him dearly.

Sleep, Please Sleep!

Fletcher, Mommy loves you but would you for the love of God please stop getting up every single thirty minutes at night? I understand you are getting teeth and I am sure that hurts little buddy, but really EVERY thirty minutes? Not cool. I think you have discovered that Mommy is only a foot away and if you whine or cry she will jump to your every need. This is making me wonder if your crib is where you need to be. I really wanted to have you in our room until you were a little older. You know Mommy is so worried about SIDS, so please baby just sleep so you can stay with me. I don't like the cry it out approach, but I am losing my sanity on the one hour of sleep the last few nights.

What happened dear boy to sleeping through the night like you were for over a month? Is it the teeth? Probably, and I am sorry about that. Lets give it one more shot with you in our room tonight buddy, but if it is a repeat of last night we are going to have to try something else. Mommy loves waking up in the middle of the night to your sweet face sleeping, so how about we try that again?

I bet I know what it is...early sibling rivalry. Stinker. :)

4 Month Checkup!

Today was Fletcher's four month appointment and he did GREAT! I already knew he was a strong, healthy boy but it is always wonderful to be told how great your child is doing. He has total head control and was given the go-ahead to try rice cereal (which he did yesterday ;)! His doctor did say "he probably won't like the cereal at first, and might not know how to swallow." That is so funny since he gobbled it up yesterday and swallowed perfectly! When the doctor was listening to his heart Fletcher couldn't see me and he started to cry, but as soon as Mommy came into view he was once again happy! He gave the doctor lots of smiles and talked up a storm! My little love bug!

Here are Fletcher's four month stats (he is not technically four months until the 13th):

Weight: 17.6 lbs (93%)
Length: 26 inches (87%)
Head: 43 cm (74%)

Our doctor (whom I love) said he was extremely proportionate and is adorable, also that he acted more like a 6-7 month old rather than being only 4 months old. She also says his dark brown eyes make him look like he has such a good soul. That was nice to hear! He slept all the way home and is now sucking down a bottle from Grandma Kac! It was a MUCH easier day than I expected!

Home from the doctor and SO tired

Yum, cereal!

Five Question Friday!

1. What's on the top of your holiday wish list and why?!

A Nintendo Wii. Big Papa and I are buying one for each other as a "family" gift! I am pretty excited! I really wanted a nice camera but that is going to have to wait!

2. What is your favorite Christmas gift from the past?

My dog Dutch. I was in 1st grade and my parents surprised me with him. He was so cute and cuddly and I loved him. I looked everywhere for a picture but couldn't find one so I got one off of Google. Cute, eh?
(Google Images)

3. If you had life to do over, what would you be when you grow up?

A forensic psychologist. I would still love to, but with my growing family I am not sure when that would happen!

4. When do you put up your tree?

The hubby did it a day or two BEFORE Thanksgiving. He was definitely in the Christmas spirit! Must be having a kid!

5. What is your favorite Holiday?

Christmas, 'fo 'sho

Thanksgiving

We had a nice Thanksgiving. It was the first time that I hosted it and it was really quite small, people wise. It was Matt, myself, Grandma Kac, Fletcher (he opted for formula) Ryan and Cyndi. I really missed the rest of my family who are back home in Minnesota, but it was so nice and relaxing being such a small gathering of people!

Ryan and Cyndi ate in Muncie at her side first, so our dinner wasn't until 6 pm. Matt, myself and my Mom decided to have a plate full of mixed nuts and cheese and crackers for an afternoon snack while cooking. I love cheese, I could live off of cheese. Matt decided to build a nice fire in our wood burning stove while my mom and I cooked dinner. It was so nice and cozy! We put the honey-glazed ham in around three and didn't start dinner until five and had it done in an hour. My mom and I are super cookers! We had ham, jive smashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, rolls, corn, cranberries, cheesecake and apple pie for dessert. It was delicious and I am still stuffed.

Fletcher had the CUTEST outfit for Thanksgiving. He was able to wear it twice since he wore it the week prior to Matt's family Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is the day that my stomach has been looking forward to. The day where it will surely grown an extra inch or two around. Today is Thanksgiving. There are so many things that I am thankful for this year. First and foremost I am thankful for my husband. Without him, my life as it is would not be possible. I haven't ever felt so loved as I feel from that man. He allows and encourages me to stay home and soak up every moment with our new baby. For that, I am grateful. I am also thankful and extremely in love with my three month old son, Fletcher. Having him in my life makes my heart feel as though it has grown twice the size. He is such a joy, and I love him more than I can express on this blog. He is my world. I am also thankful for the rest of my family and the great upbringing that I received. My Mom, Dad and two brothers are amazing and I wouldn't want any other people as my family. My dog Tallulah is also on the top of the "thankful" list. She was my first baby, and has helped me get through some tough times. I am thankful for our new house, our health and food on the table. This year has been life changing, and I am so thankful for all that I have received.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

What you thought I would post an adorable picture of my son or husband? Yeah, I could but I also wanted to show something else I am thankful for. Dairy Queen Pumpkin Pie Blizzard. Num.

Now, I just want to know, is it Thanksgiving yet? This is a very special Thanksgiving being as it is the first year we are in a house and a very special little three month old is here!

3 Months!

Fletcher you are now three months old

You are getting so big, but it seems like you have been here far longer than just three months! My-oh-my how you have changed in those three short months! You are becoming SO smart and also SO funny! There is never a day that you don't fill with lots of love (and talking).

You are now wearing size 3-6 months clothing, but I have a feeling you will be entirely in 6 months in a couple of weeks. You are a BIG boy! You still wear size one diapers, but I think we will soon move up to size two. You love to drink your formula, you have always been a great eater. You have moved up from four ounces to six most of the time!

Did I mention how strong you are? Well, baby boy you sure are one strong little man! You have been holding your head up really well lately and you LOVE to play! You get so bored just laying around, you want to DO something! You are happiest when you are out and about and not just hanging out at home. You are not a napper, but I will take that because you have been sleeping through the night for WEEKS

Did I mention you are getting teeth? Well, you are! Your hand is almost always in your month and your gums are quite sore looking. Poor baby! Also, I have to trim your nails almost daily because you like to look tough and give yourself scratches. Silly guy!

Fletcher, your Mommy and Daddy love you to bunches. You have made our family truly a family and life is just so much more worth living now that you are here. Thanks for being my little boy (and making "words" that sound like Mama)!!!
