5QF

Time for Mama M's Five Question Friday!!!

1. Did you have a favorite blanket or toy as a kid? If so, do you still have it?

I did and do. My favorite blanket was given to me by my grandmother who passed away when I was four. It has always been extremely important to me and I hope to always have it. It started out pink, but now seems like a shade of grey and looks like swiss cheese.
Pretty, eh?

2. Do you dream in color?

I am pretty sure that I do. I usually remember my dreams and they are always messed up. Names never go with the correct faces, but there aren't many mornings where I don't remember at least part of my dream.

3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller?

I am 5'4" (and a 1/2, but that part is debatable). I actually really like my height. I have always thought I was short, but after reading some other Five Question Fridays it seems like I am right in the middle. I rarely have to worry about hitting my head on things. Love that!

4. If you could have anyone's (celeb or other) voice as the guide on your GPS, who would it be?

Liam Neeson. I could listen to him all day long. If not him then probably William Shatner. He's awesome.

5. Do you return your shopping cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot?

Always. Even when it is pouring, or I am waddling because I am having a contraction. I HATE when people don't return them but I understand if they have kids with and can't.

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros - Home (JVTP)

I fricken love this song. It will be making the "playlist" when I am in the hospital. :)

37 Weeks 4 Days Pregnant & House Hunting.

I am officially 37 weeks pregnant and full term...and feeling it. Fletcher feels like he is a HUGE baby, and an active one at that! He likes to shift his butt from one side of my stomach to the other and there isn't a minute that goes by where my stomach doesn't look deformed. Why didn't anyone tell me that it hurts when a baby moves inside of you. Yes, it is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but damn it hurts! I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday and it went pretty routine just the way I like it. Fletcher was head down still (yay!) and when my doctor checked my cervix he went nuts like last time. He doesn't seem to be a very happy baby when being woken up, kind of like his daddy.

Here is what I know so far:

*I am one, closer to two centimeters dilated.

*My blood pressure this week was 120/80 which is great! It seems to range lately from 116 to about 122. I have only had one week where it went above 130 and I honestly think it was because I had a different nurse who really didn't know how to take it correctly.

* My urine continues to come back without protein.

* The strep test came back negative which makes me very happy! I wasn't nervous if it had come back positive, but it is just nice to not have to worry about that.

*Like I said Fletcher is still head down and kicking his little legs like crazy.

* The doctor thinks he is about 7 pounds (at least) right now and continues to say I am all baby.

*I have gained 19-20 pounds so far. Not very much but my belly continues to be right on track for my due date.

My next appointment is going to be Monday morning. My doctor unfortunately is out for the week so I will be meeting a new doctor. It doesn't really bother me because as long as it is a medical professional checking me out we are good to go. At least if I make it past next week my doctor should be around come delivery time! My mom is booking her flight for the 13th and I can't wait for her to be here! She will either make it for the delivery or have a nice little surprise waiting for her at the airport. I can not believe that the day where we welcome our son into this world is almost here. It seems surreal. I am so happy.

On a different note we have decided to add house hunting to our list of things that are going on in the Beeson household. Yes, we are crazy. Last weekend we toured about seven houses and fell in love with one. It is a great price and adorable but we just don't know how it is all going to pan out. We have an appointment to check it out again tonight and the seller seems really motivated. It is something we can afford and it has a great yard for both Fletcher and Tallulah. We do however have to figure out how to get out of our lease and there are a few other loose ends that we need to tie up. We shall see. I will post most about the house soon when hopefully we will know more. Keep your fingers crossed!

5QF & Baby Update!

1. What were your school colors?

Our school colors were dark blue and white...or wait....were they dark blue and silver? It seemed like each uniform had a variation of those colors on them. I am pretty sure the "official" colors were blue and white. :)

2. What's the best compliment you ever received?

Hmm, I am not good at receiving compliments. My husband gives me compliments everyday, but I think he is a little biased since he is married to me and all. I guess I enjoy when people say that I have nice hair or pretty eyes. I do remember one time someone told me I am perfectly shaped lips (they are biiiiiiiiiiiig) but that has always stuck with me!

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?

We are kind of middle-of-the-road type spenders on toilet paper. We usually get Charmin Basic. My husband likes it and as long as it is Charmin I don't really care. I don't use that much (although I do go every five minutes being pregnant) but my husband goes through it like crazy. I make him use the bathroom at work, because it is good for the budget. Ha!

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?

I don't think I have ever had one thrown for me. I would like one though (hint, hint). I have been to several but I was never one of the people planning it. I think it would be fun to plan one though!

5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?

Oh booooooooy. I would have to go with my computer (I am on it WAY too much) or my cell phone. Other than that I can take or leave material possessions.

BABY UPDATE!!!

I went in yesterday for my 36 week checkup and Strep B test. I was expecting a pretty short visit to the doctor as that is usually how it goes for me. I haven't had any complications thus far so I am always in and out. I showed up there and had to wait a while to even get in a room (no problem) and then once I pissed in a cup and was weighed I was told to undress from the waste down. NO PROBLEM! I knew I had to have my strep test and was hoping it would go fast. I ended up waiting for my doctor (whom I love) for roughly 30 some minutes half dressed. Not fun. Once Dr. V arrived she said I hadn't gained any weight (which is fine) and that my blood pressure was great. The strep exam began and that was fairly painless. Felt kind of like a pap which is nothing. She then asked if I wanted to check to see if I was dilated and of course I wanted to! Now having an entire arm (I know, I know exaggeration) in your hoo-ha is NOT pleasant! It turns out I am 1 centimeter dilated which was awesome! I know that isn't much, but it is SOMETHING!!! After that she measured my belly and took the little dude's heartbeat. Fletcher's heartbeat is usually 120-130 bpm and yesterday it was 160. She said it was most likely because she was up in my goods and that made him mad since he was sleeping. Dr. V wanted to be sure that it wasn't anything else so I was sent back to the waiting room to then wait another 40 minutes before being monitored. It seems like everything was fine after being monitored and I was sent home. I have my next appointment on Tuesday for my 37 week checkup and I look forward to seeing what his heartbeat is then. I hope it is back down to normal range and that was a fluke!

I felt like crap all night last night after having an entire arm in my goods and eating off schedule yesterday. I am taking it easy today and tomorrow Matt and I are going to tour some houses. Should be fun! I hope we find a good deal!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!

5QF- Men, Tornado, Banana With Cheese.

Time again for Mama M's Five Question Friday!

1. Do you collect anything?

Not really. I guess I collect beer glasses. I don't have a ton of them, but I do have some proudly displayed in my hutch. I would love to collect Salvador Dali paintings but that will have to wait until I have more moola someday!

2. Name 3 celebrities that you find good looking.

This changes all the time, but here are some guys that I am currently digging. :)

Dave Matthews- My one and only. He has been my crush since I was in 7th grade and he always will be. Yum!

Jason Segel- He's funny, he's cute, and he shows the goods in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Liam Neeson- All he has to do is talk and I am done.

3. Do you have any scars? If so, what's the story behind it (them?)?

I have a couple. The one on my wrist is probably the most noticeable. It was from high school hockey and a girl on my team didn't seem to understand the concept of stopping and ran into me in the net. Lets just say my bone went through my skin.

4. What is a food that you like to eat, but others might think it's gross or weird?

Kraft cheese slice on a banana. It is delicious, you must try!

5. Have you ever seen a tornado in real life?

That would be a big YES! The town that I am from was completely destroyed by a tornado when I was in 8th grade. I was walking to a friends house (because heeeeeeeellllllloooooooooo I didn't have a car yet) and the sirens started blaring. Luckily we got there just in time to jump (yes jump!) into the basement before the destroyed most of the neighborhood. It was crazy!

35 Weeks 4 Days & Cancer Appointment

I haven't been great at updating on how my pregnancy has been going. Lets just say I don't have much energy. I am nearing the end of my pregnancy and I couldn't be more excited to meet little Fletcher!

What has been going on lately with big 'ol pregnant me:

*As of last week I had gained 17 (or 18...pregnancy brain!) pounds since my beginning weight. My doctor said I am right on track to where she wants me to be. I am pretty proud of this! I only gained 1/2 a pound in two weeks last week but she didn't seem to think it was a problem.
*My ankles and feet have started to swell a little bit. They don't bother me too much and the swelling seems to go down in the morning, but I am still keeping track of it.
*On Thursday I am going to have the dreaded strep test. I am not looking forward to that appointment! I can take needles, blood, whatever but I hate being swabbed. I know, I know TMI
*After next week I start going in EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK!!! I am excited to get to hear the little ones heartbeat every week and see if I am dilated.
*I am pretty sure that Fletcher has dropped. My belly looks different and I have started to waddle. Classy, I know.
*My dizziness seems to come and go. I really think it is weather related since my BP has been fine and there hasn't been any protein in my urine.

All in all I can't WAIT to not be pregnant anymore and to have Fletcher in my arms! I will miss feeling him wiggle in my belly. I am trying to soak that in as much as possible right now.

------------------------------------

My mom had an appointment yesterday and a colonoscopy. She had colon cancer when I was a sophomore in high school and went in for her yearly test. She actually didn't go in last year so I was pretty nervous they would find something at her appointment. They did find a few polyps (which is VERY common for her) but they were able to cut them all out. Now is the dreaded waiting game to see if they were cancerous. Even if they were they still were able to get them all out so it shouldn't be a problem. She also has "pockets" in her colon and she has to stop eating some foods (ones with seeds and popcorn) so she doesn't tear her colon. If that happened she would have to get part of her colon (which she doesn't have much left) removed. We are hoping that isn't the case.

Well, that is what has been going on in my life! I am looking forward to this heat and humidity to GO AWAY!!!

Here is a picture of me today. Please excuse the awesome outfit I have on and the silly look (and dirty mirror) I have on my face!

35 weeks 4 days!

Wordless Wednesday

I know I have neglected this blog lately, but I am going to return VERY soon! Until then here is a picture of my favorite girl.
