Food Day- Slow Cooker!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Strognaoff has always been one of my favorite types of sauces to put on buttered egg noodles (or mashed potatoes), and when I found this recipe using my slow cooker I had to try it. The house smells SO good right now! The original recipe seemed okay, but nothing special so I jazzed it up a bit (with some suggestion from reviews online).

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb cubed beef stew meat
  • 2 cans of Golden Mushroom Soup (NOT Cream of Mushroom)
  • 1/2 Chopped Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 cup of Water
  • 1 Beef Bullion Cube
  • 1/2 Packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese
  • Dollop of Sour Cream

I forgot to put the bullion cube in this picture!

Put beef stew meat, cans of soup, half of a chopped onion, Worcestershire Sauce, Water, Bullion Cube, Lipton Soup, and garlic in the slow cooker. Stir so everything is mixed well and set on low for 6-7 hours. The original recipe suggested 8 hours but after reviews it seemed that amount of time was too long. Before serving add the cream cheese and sour cream, stir well. Serve over butter egg noodles. It seems like a lot of ingredients, but all were really cheap and it was super simple to make. It makes the entire house smell amazing!

Note: Served over mashed potatoes or rice is equally delicious!
