1. What's the last thing you spent too much money on?

Probably my cell phone or baby clothes. I don't actually spend that much money on things, but if I could I would go crazy with clothes for Fletcher and Huxley!

2. What celeb chef would you want to make you dinner?

There are so many but I really like Giada De Laurentiis' food. I have tried quite a few of her recipes and they were tasty!

3. Where do you hide things when visitors pop over or do you let them see the real deal?

Usually see the real deal. I would love for my house to always be completely clean, but that isn't the case and I am fine with that.

4. Who is your oldest living family member?

My Grandpa, Jim. He is 92 and still super feisty!

5. What is your favorite DQ treat and/or Sonic drink combo (ie: cherry vanilla dr. pepper)?

ALL OF THEM. No, really I love all of them. I do really like the grape creamslush from Sonic in the summer and my choice of blizzard changes throughout the year. Right now I am on the blizzard of the month kick, Caramel Nut Roll! Delish!

1. What movie do you love to quote?

I would have to remember a movie to quote it. I can see the same movie a hundred times (Love Actually!) and I still can only remember a couple of lines. I just am NOT good at remembering, I wish I was! With that said I would go with Love Actually, since it is pretty much the only movie I know any lines to!

2. Have you ever ridden a motorcycle?

I sure have, but I am still not certain how I feel about it. I think if I was driving it would be much easier for me. I need to be in control and when I am not I feel uneasy!

3. What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?

Cook! Rainy days always make me want to cook. I just hate running out in the rain to get the ingredients if I don't have them on hand. I also like watching movies or digging into a good book. The last one is a big harder with a one year old!

4. Do you prefer a bunch of small gifts, or one really big, (expensive) gift?

It really depends what the big gift is! Ha, really I like both. I do not like a bunch of small gifts I will never use though. That just causes clutter, and I HATE clutter!

5. Do you ever lose track of days and show up somewhere wrong?

Nope, but I have a feeling with the more kids we have the more times I will show up somewhere wrong. Right now I obsessively look at the dates on my phone so I know when something is.

1. Do you prefer cotton, silk, or flannel sheets?

Cotton in the summer and flannel in the winter. I really like soft sheets and silk just hasn't done it for me. It gets all sticky and blah. No thanks! Speaking of sheets, I really need to buy a new set soon. It has been far too long!

2. What time zone are you in?

Eastern, although after six years I am still getting used to the shows being on later! I grew up in Central time zone and I think my body will always think it should be that!

3. What is your favorite part of the holiday season?

Ohhhh, I like a lot of it! I love cooking (thanks Mom and Grandma for teaching me!), decorating my house and of course buying my family presents. Fletcher is especially fun to buy for! This year I will have TWO little guys to buy for! Can't wait!

4. What is your favorite "wintry" drink? (It doesn't have to be an "alcoholic" drink!)

Hot chocolate, warm apple cider, and WINE!

5. In your opinion, what is the worst job in the world?

Most of the jobs on Dirty Jobs, or being a banker. I just could NOT handle that.

1. Where do you escape to when you've had enough?

I haven't really had to yet. I guess my husband and I go out for dinner while my parents watch Fletcher. That always recharges my batteries!

2. What shows are you watching this fall?

I LOVE fall shows! My favorite is still Grey's Anatomy, but I also watch Modern Family, Up All Night, Big Bang, Parks and Rec, Criminal Minds...and I am sure there is more. Yes, I know this is a lot but it is what I do to wind down at the end of the day!

3. What was the longest roadtrip you've ever taken and where did you go?

My Mom, Aunt and I went from Colorado to New Mexico and then from New Mexico to Texas and all the way up to Minnesota. It was a long drive, but memories I will never forget. It is one of the last times I had seen my Aunt Patty before she passed away.

4. Do you plan on taking your kids to Disney World?

I am sure we will go at least once, although I really don't have that much interest. I prefer other type of vacations, but a kid has to experience Disney, right?

5. What is something people would surprised to know about you?

Hmm, that I want a big family. Maybe that isn't surprising. That I still have my baby blanket from when I was a baby. I love it, even though it looks like Swiss Cheese!

1. Do you prefer your ice cream in a bowl or in a cone?

Depends on the day. I just prefer ice cream...every single day. It is my favorite food so however it is served is just fine by me! Yum!

2. What three things do you love the smell of?

My child after a bath (mmm, Baby Magic),

my dog's paws (they smell like Fritos!), and the scent of a new car. Mmm, my van still has that smell! Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of an ice rink. Brings back lots of memories!

3. Giftcards or no? (In regards to gift giving...)

Yes, I love getting them and I love to give them. I do however give another gift with them most of the time so the person isn't just getting a gift card. I like to put some thought into gifts!

4. What sports did you play in high school if any and do you still play them?

Hockey, tennis and softball but hockey was my true love. I really want to get back into playing it once my baby boy is born. Being a goalie is so much fun!

5. Were you in band in high school? What instrument did you play?

I played the French Horn for all of three lessons. I can't remember why I stopped, but I did. I never was much into band, but I sure hope my kids are!

We are currently on a small vacation in Minnesota visiting my family, but little man is taking a nap and the rest of the gang is getting ready. So, I had some time to do a little FQF!

1. What is your go to comfort food or sweet?

My mom's spaghetti or a big piece of cheesecake. Mmm, both make this Mama feel good!

2. What is the most romantic place you've ever been to?

Well, most likely Kauai Hawaii even though it wasn't romantic for me. I see the potential though. Matt and I need to go on vacation there!

3. What is your favorite thing about fall/Halloween?

Seeing Fletcher in his Halloween costume. He looks so darn cute! I also really like decorating, and ooooh the candy! I am a big fan of candy!

4. How would you spend 24 hours alone?

Bath, coffee, crappy TV, a book, wine, and bath again. Yes, please!

5. Does you husband bring you flowers? Are you the bring-me-flowers type of girl?

He does from time to time and I love it. Anything sweet and thoughtful makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. :)

1. Dream job...realistic and completely unrealistic.

I think my unrealistic job (for me) would be a Forensic Anthropologist. I would LOVE to be one, but the hours and time away from my family would just not be worth it. Realistically, I would like to get back into teaching or be a Medical Sonographer. I am considering getting into one or the other in the near future. I just really love staying home with my kiddos at this time.

2. Do you fart in front of your significant other?

Rarely. I just never really have to fart. I don't know why, I just don't. My husband actually wishes I did more. He is odd like that. Now, does he? Why yes he does. ALL. THE. TIME.

3. What's the furthest you've ever traveled from home? How far and where was it?

I think Kauai, Hawaii was the furthest. Can I please live there?

4. How do you celebrate birthday for your kids? Family only or friends? ... Alternate for those without kiddos: How did you celebrate birthdays as a kid?

Well, we have only had one birthday so far and we had both family and friends. I would really like to do the next one in Minnesota where more of my family lives. I definitely like to do a nice sized first birthday party!

5. Fave thing about fall?

Easy. The smell. Yum!

1. What ringtone do you have on your cell phone?

Just a boring one that came programmed on my phone since it is new and I am too lazy to change it. I had "Sugar Lumps" by Flight of the Conchords and I really want that again!

2. What is your favorite memory from this summer?

Fletcher's 1st birthday. It was a great party, and I am so proud to show that little stinker off!

3. Paper books or ebooks?

Paper. I am old school like that.

4. If you could have one home upgrade what would it be and why?

Kitchen appliances. They are older and not all that special. I want a huge, gas stove that has all the bells and whistles!

5. When was your first serious boyfriend/girlfriend?

I was 16 and we dated for six years, so I guess that was pretty serious.

Car Shopping

Sounds fun, until you actually do it. Then, it is not fun at all. Yesterday, the hubby and myself spent ALL day looking at vehicles. I mean alllll day. We left the house at 8:40 AM and didn't get home again until nearly 8:30 PM. Luckily my parents watched Fletcher (who was extremely crabby from teething) the entire time. We are super thankful!

We started out looking at vans. I mean we know they are spacious, and that is what you do when you have multiple kids. Right? Well, we found a couple we liked but they were either not in our price range or beat up. We branched out to look at SUVs with a third row seat, and fell in love. We currently own a Jeep Compass and we are only getting rid of it because it is a bit small, so when we tried out the Jeep Commander we knew it would fit our family. It is bigger, a 4x4, and in a few years Matt can use it when his vehicle dies, which is nice.

We test drove one and loved it, but wanted to check another out that is at another dealership. We hopefully will love that equally as much and be able to call it ours.

1. Shoes in the house - yay or nay?

I would like to say nay, but really I wear my flip flops all day long. I also don't say anything to others who wear their shoes in my house. Luckily we have hardwood throughout because I know when I have had carpet I am much more inclined to make people take their shoes off. I really don't like shoes in Fletcher's room though since he is all over the floor in there.

2. What do you call them- flip flops, slippers, thongs, etc?

I answered it above, flip flops!

3. What song are you almost embarrassed to admit you know all the lyrics to?

I am terrible with lyrics, so I am actually kind of sad to say there aren't any songs! Even songs that I love I mess the lyrics up!

4. What is the best quality to have in a friend?

To be honest, and sincere. I hate that type of friend that acts super sweet, but is controlling behind your back. Passive aggressiveness drives me bonkers!

5. Do you know what you want for Christmas?

Yes! A computer! Seeing as this just took me far too long to type out because my computer is terrible that is exactly what I want. Also, a happy and healthy family. Really, that is #1 on my list. I am just too lazy to retype this. Ha!

Fletcher you are now ONE! How did my little baby become one already? I can't even believe it! I do however think one is my favorite age (as I say every month) so far. You are learning and growing SO much!

You are still one big boy, and Mommy wouldn't have it any other way (my back would though). You weigh 28.5 lbs (97%) and are 32 inches tall (95%). See, I told you that you are big! You are now wearing 2T and some 3T clothes. You seemed to breeze through 18 month clothing, but I guess your little brother can wear them! They are brand new! You are wearing size 5 shoe, although you would rather be barefoot.

You still rock the mohawk from time to time. :)

You have gotten even sweeter with age. You give lots of hugs and kisses, and say "Mama" and "Dada" in such a sweet little voice. You light up when you see Mommy or Daddy, and that makes us light up in return. You are such a little charmer! You love having your Grandma and Grandpa here, and even started saying Grand-Mama. It is so adorable!

You have also started getting LOTS of teeth, FAST! You went from having no teeth at 8 months, to now having TEN with four more on the way! You really aren't a crabby teether either. Actually, you are just not a crabby baby at all. You have started sleeping through the night every night, and although you are trying to drop your afternoon nap you still give in most days. Mama feels like a new women now that you have been sleeping through the night. You LOVE your crib. You do this crazy laugh when you see it at night. I am so glad that you are so secure.

Fletcher, you are such a good eater. You eat most of the food I put in front of you, but your favorites are still pancakes, crackers, bananas, pasta and of course ice cream. I blame that one on Grandma Kac. :)

You still take a bottle before going to sleep, but take a sippy cup like a champ. You love your whole milk as well as water. Not a fan of juice, which in my eyes is great!

Saying you are obsessed with letters is an understatement. You LOVE Super Why! and every time they ask you which letter is on the screen you make a strange guttural sound like you are answering them. I think you are going to love to read. You say plenty of words for your age, and you seem to be trying to say more everyday.

Your biggest new trick, and the one I find the cutest is you are WALKING. Sorta. You have the last couple of weeks started to take a step here and there. I think the most you have done at one time is 6, but each day you get better. Even if you do look like a 90 year old that has had too much scotch. I love it and you are so proud of yourself too!

Fletcher, you are our world and we are so proud to call you our son. You are the funniest, brightest, cutest little boy and we love you so much.

Keep growing little man, we love the little boy you are becoming.

It is going to be a beautiful 80 degree, sunny day today. That calls for a walk on the canals. My mom has been asking to go for weeks, and my Dad has never been so today seems like the perfect day!

I remember the first time I took Fletcher to walk the canals. He was only two weeks old (and Mama was still in A LOT of pain), but it will be fun to see how times have changed. I think this time Fletcher will be much more aware of where he is. :)

1. Did you make any fun purchases this week?

Hmm, nope not this week. We seemed to spend a lot on Fletcher's birthday a couple weeks ago (still need to get that one year post up!) so we are trying to not spend as much this week. It kind of stinks because I saw some cute things for Huxley's room that I REALLY want to buy! I guess I did buy Fletcher some skater shoes for fall.

2. If you could go to any musical concert, what would it be?

Well, I would say DMB but I have seen them...lets see...I have lost count! LOTS! So, with that said I would have to say it would have been fun to see The Beatles back in the day or Morrissey. Love me some Morrissey.

3. What is your least fav/ most fav house chore?

I HATE putting laundry away. It is so NOT fun. The only time it is okay is when you have a newborn in the house, because their clothes are just oh-so-cute! I actually really like dusting, so that would be my fave!

4. Would you prefer new appliances or clothes?

Normally I would say new appliances but since we aren't planning on staying in this house all that long I would go with clothes. This Mama needs some new maternity clothes!

5. Miracle Whip or Mayo?

Easiest question of the day, mayo! The only time I would pick Miracle Whip over Mayo is on a BLT.

1. Do you close the bathroom door when you are home alone?

Nope, not usually. Depends on if I want the dog coming in to stare at me though. She's odd.

2. You have to walk around with a word on your forehead. That word describes you. One word. What is it?

My husband would probably say "sarcastic". I would agree, most days.

3. What store do you refuse to shop at and why?

Hollister. That store gives me a headache with their loud music. That and I don't fit in their clothes anymore and if I did I would look 14.

4. If you participated in arranged marriages for your child(ren), who would you choose for your child(ren)?

Hmm, someone that ends up having a good sense of humor. They will need it with Fletcher. He is his Daddy's son. :)

Yes please! Since we didn't have much of a ceremony at all, we would love to have one someday soon!

2. What sound/s annoy you the most?

Scratching on anything, especially jeans. My mom will scratch her jeans and Fletcher has started scratching things. It annoys the crap out of me!

3. If you had to pick, would you have only all boys, or only all girls for kids?

That is super easy, BOYS! I just don't think I could handle ALL girls. I guess I am on the path so far for all boys, although I would love a girl someday!

4. Do you believe in alternative medicine?

Sure, and I believe in people doing whatever works for them. I, however have never tried alternative medicine.

5. Would you take a family member's children and raise them if they needed it?

Definitely. Family is super important to me, and I would hope they would do the same!

BOY!!!

We are so happy to announce that we are going to welcome another little boy into our family in December. We would have been extremely happy with either gender, but having a boy so close in age to Fletcher will be so much fun!

Now, I am not too excited with how the ultrasound pictures went, but that is for a different day. We are just so pleased little pipsqueak looks healthy!

1. If you had the opportunity to bungee jump, would you?

I have before, and might again. My only problem with it was that it killed my back. Like my back hurt for a long time after!

2. Would you rather go to the movie theater or to the drive-in?

If we had a good drive in that could be fun, in nice weather. I do love a good movie in the theater though! So, I pick both!

3. Do you have your groceries delivered?

No, but I love that option! Although, my husband is great at picking up groceries, so in that sense I do!

4. Eyebrows: Do you wax, thread, pluck, or stay au naturel?

I have been au naturel lately because I am broke and lazy, but I love to get my eyebrows threaded! Sounds like a zipper though, ick!

5. Would the people you went to high school with be surprised by your life today?

Nope, I don't think so. Kids, husband, moved away. Sounds about right.

The Day Ahead

Today is a beautiful, lazy day. I am finishing up a bagel and sipping on coffee while watching my little man take a nap on the monitor. He is just so peaceful when he sleeps, I love it!

Later this afternoon I have a doctor's appointment for baby #2 and I really wish I was finding out the gender. Being 17 weeks they could technically tell, but I am assuming my doctor will make an ultrasound appointment for 20 weeks. I am just impatient since I found out Fletcher was a boy when I was only 15 weeks! I have never been good at waiting! I want to start buying things and planning the nursery.

Speaking of the nursery we were thinking about putting little nugget with Fletcher when he/she is born, but I just don't think that is going to happen. First of all Fletcher is an extremely light sleeper, and to be quite frank, I want to plan another nursery. I love looking at colors, ideas, and murals for the future nursery. I do think since both kids will be close in age they could share when they are older and baby #3 (if that happens) is on the way, but for now they can have their own space.

Tonight my family, with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend Cyndi are going to a music in the park thing. It will be nice to get out, have a picnic and enjoy some music. I can't wait!

I should probably shower before I start hearing "Mama, Mama, Mama" on the monitor! Have a great day everyone!

1. What is your current favorite tv show?

Hmm, I like to watch TV but during the summer it kind of stinks. I saw that The Marriage Ref starts again on Sunday and I love that show!

2. What's the worst haircut you ever got?

I used to have hair that was spiky in the back and pretty short. At the time I thought it was awesome, but awesome it was not!

3. What was something that you did as a child that you thought you were so cool for doing?

Playing hockey, but I was cool for doing that. :p

4. Do you have any GREAT frugal family fun tips?

Plan a menu out in advance! It helps us eat healthier, look for deals before we go to the grocery store, and my husband loves knowing what we are going to have for dinner! It has really helped us save money!

5. Would you drive across country if you had the money to fly?

Yes, I actually prefer to drive...especially with a baby!

He loves driving, even though it doesn't look like it!

10 Months!

I can't believe you are two months away from being ONE. ONE? No, I can't almost have a one year old! Craziness! I am sorry little man that this is a week or so late, but you at ten months are quite the handful! I wouldn't have it any other way! I think ten months has so far been my favorite month!

You have changed so much in the last couple of weeks I can hardly keep up! You went from having no teeth, and one month later you are now sporting five shiny new ones...and boy are they sharp! You love to show us your new teeth and you do a new crazy smile nonstop! It is hilarious! Anytime I take out my phone you put your hands up, close your eyes and smile while making sure we see your teeth. You are FUNNY!

You still aren't the best sleeper in the world, but naps sure have improved! You love your crib, and even though I miss you in our room, I am happy that you love your own bed and room. You play, play, play in it until all of a sudden you pass out. You sleep around an hour in the morning and anywhere from an hour to an hour an a half in the afternoon. You have started going to bed at eight and even though you wake up a couple of times a night you still are doing much better. Thank you baby boy for almost always sleeping until 7:30 in the morning!

You are also a wonderful eater, but I don't think that surprises anyone. You love people food, and so far your favorites are eggs (doc gave the ok :), bananas, any sort of cracker, rice, and fruits of all kinds! You aren't as interested in your bottle and are only taking about 4-6 ounces three times a day. You would much rather have water. To say you are obsessed with water is an understatement.

All that eating is making you grow like crazy! You are now wearing 18 months and 2T. 2T? Come on Fletch, you are only 10 months! I can't believe you are officially in toddler clothing. My big boy!

Your new favorite activity is going to the park and swinging. Although how you like to lean forward and kick your little feet like crazy makes your Grandma Kac nervous, you LOVE it! I think it is hilarious to watch you. You get so into things, and I have a feeling we are going to have to put you in lots of activities because you seem to love doing new things!

You are pulling up great and you still want to stand all the time. I think by your first birthday you will be walking. You seem to have quite the interest in it and now that you have mastered crawling, that is next on the list.

Fletcher, Mommy and Daddy love you like crazy. You are the most amazing little man ever, and I am so thankful to have you as my son. We love you!

11 week ultrasound. Amazing how great it is!

This little babe is making him/herself know, and doesn't want to leave Fletcher as the only rambunctious baby in this family. The little bumpkin decided that he/she wanted to start making Mommy feel their presence.

The little flutters in my belly have started, and I couldn't be more happy! I have a feeling we are going to have another little stinker in our family. Just the way I like it!

My Parents

My parents are moving to Indianapolis tomorrow. I have lived here six years, and this will be the first time I will have my parents in the same state since moving. I am extremely excited for them to be here, and for them to be able to watch Fletcher grow. They are amazing parents and grandparents, and we are lucky that they are going to be so close.

How close? Well, until they figure out just what part of the city they want to live in they will be right under our roof. So, that is now four adults, one baby, and two dogs.

Sounds like a full house....just the way I like it!

Super easy question, pool! No, doubt in my mind. We want a pool or a place for a pool in our next house. I love to swim!

Of my husband that is! He just called to tell me that he passed his Professional Engineering test! This was his first time taking the test, and most people rarely pass on the first try. Well, my guy did and I couldn't be more proud!

He truly is a smart guy! Now, if he could just remember to put his dirty dishes IN the dishwasher...

9 Months!

Fletcher you are now 9 months old! Time is flying by little man, and I love every second of it! You have always been a happy baby but you seemed to get even happier between 8-9 months! You are ALWAYS smiling or laughing! I love your sense of humor

Your pediatrician also thought you were a riot. When you got your shot you looked at the nurse, furrowed your brow and said "heeeeeey"! It was SO funny! The nurse said "he didn't even cry but he sure told me!" I love that about you, you rarely cry! You can bonk yourself hard with a toy and there are rarely tears. You are one tough, sweet, big baby boy!

Speaking of big you are now 23.90 pounds (91%) and 30 inches long (93%)! See, you are a BIG boy! You are wearing size four diapers (only one size left, so sloooow down with the growing dude or you will be potty training by one!) and you wear size 18 month clothing! Pretty soon you are going to be out of the "baby" clothing and in size 2T! Crazy to think!

You are also all over the place little man. You are crawling and getting into everything. Daddy and I are baby proofing this place because you seem to find any and everything to get into! I love your curious nature. You are just so smart!

You started teething at three months and the doctor thought you were for sure getting your first tooth at six months, but you just finally got it just before you turned 9 months! It is so sharp and so cute! I love it!

With that took you have started eating a lot more table food. So far your favorites are yogurt, bananas, avocado, spaghetti, vanilla ice cream,and you sorta kinda liked potato. Since we were given the go ahead we are trying to introduce new food to you all the time! You love it!

You still love your ExcerSaucer (here you are doing your funny clapping!), but I think swimming takes over for your favorite activity. You love being in water! We are going to spend many summer days out back in your pool! I can't wait!

Well, baby boy. I love you more and more each and every single day. Your Daddy does too. You are an amazing child, and we are so thankful you are ours.

Calf socks in the winter, but I am not a fan of socks so when it gets even slightly warm I wear flip flops sans socks!

Mutual. We are lucky that we love the same names and seem to always agree on them! Makes it a lot easier!

Spring time weather is my favorite. I love the rain, the smell of blooming flowers and all the good stuff. I love hot weather too, if there is water around to cool off in!

If my lovely son would sleep in I would probably sleep until 8. That is about perfect! I love mornings, just not at 5-6 am!

I really want to post more recipes, I do, but this thing called morning sickness (all day) makes everything sound terrible. My husband probably isn't enjoying the no menu thing either. Last night we had buttered noodles. Bland is about all that I can eat right now. Maybe in a couple of weeks I will have my appetite back and I can post more recipes!

Easy, Aston Martin. They are beautiful, and lovely, and expensive. I will NEVER own one, but one can dream.

2. What was your worst first date ever?

I haven't really had any. :)

3. How old were you when you fell in love for the first time?

17 and that was my first really serious relationship. It didn't work out, but the ending to it led me to where I currently live now and my husband. I couldn't be happier.

4. When was the last time you reconciled your checkbook?

Um, I have no freakin' idea. We never overdraft so I guess that is good. Thank goodness for online banking!

5. If you were going to fashion a "Wanted" Ad for a best friend, how would you word it?

I love cream cheese, hell, I love cream everything. I know, not healthy but I can't help it. It is delicious. When I saw Philly Cream Cheese Cooking Creme, I knew I had to try it! What an easy dinner option!

This is the recipe I decided to try:

Creamy Chicken Pasta with Broccoli. Similar to a dish I make with homemade alfredo sauce.

Ingredients:

2 cups of cooked pasta
4 cups of broccoli
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 pound of chicken, cooked and cubed (I put some cayenne on it)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tub of cream cheese cooking creme

Cook pasta according to directions on box. When pasta is cooking, cook the chicken with olive oil in a skillet, about 6-8 minutes or until there is no pink. Drain pasta and add to chicken mixture with cooking creme, as well as the broccoli. Stir and heat for 2-3 minutes stirring frequently. Ta-Da! That is it. Easy peasy and delicious! I would definitely buy this product again and would like to try another flavor that they have!

Note: Check on Philadelphia Cream Cheese website, they have a bunch of great recipes using the different cooking cremes!

1. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

Procrastination. I have always had a problem with this, always. As much as I procrastinate I very much want to go, go, go...with everything. I like constant new adventures, new dreams, new everything, although I will keep the husband I got.

2. Write about a time when you got lost.

I had just moved to the Twin Cities and I got lost in Murderapolis, on Lake Street. If anyone knows that area, they know that it isn't the best area to be lost in.

3. Camping or 5 star hotel?

Depends on my mood! I love both! Right now I could use a hotel, and I would be just fine with 4 star, hell, maybe even 3! I need relaxation at its finest!

Fletch and I want to do this again...

4. Have you donated blood?

I have and I have also been turned down for donating blood. I guess you can't go to Mexico and then come back and try to donate.

5. Do you have a budget or do you 'fly by' most months?

We try to have a budget, and we do pretty well with it. Although the budget is tight, we get by. :)

Food Day: Slow Cooker Carnitas.

Um, yum. Yeah, this recipe is amazing. Like really amazing. The smells that fills your house is also amazing. Super amazing. Have I mentioned this is amazing? Okay.

Slow Cooker Carnitas.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons of dried oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons of ground coriander
1 teaspoon of chili powder
2 bay leaves
2 cups of chicken broth
4 lb pork roast

Mix together spices in a bowl. Coat pork roast with the spice mix. Place the bay leaves in the bottom of the slow cooker and place the pork on top. Pour chicken broth around the sides of the pork roast, not rinsing off the spice mix. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours (I did 8 but my slow cooker seems to cook fast), until the pork shreds easily with a fork. I then took the chunks and put them on a cookie sheet and baked them for 20 minutes to get that nice crust. This step isn't needed, but it makes it that much more delicious!

Once shredded add to tacos, on nachos, to a salad, a burrito or whatever you fancy. This meal is goooooood!

Note: This is amazing. :)

I love The Pioneer Woman, so I knew I had to try her Sour Cream Noodle Bake. You say sour cream and noodles in one sentence and I am sold, actually I am in love. This recipe is super simple and since I did it exactly how she did you can go see her recipe on her page!

I will show you some pictures of my SCNB, and let you know that it will definitely be a repeat in this household. Perfect for a rainy day like today!

1. Have you ever had surgery?

I haven't, but I have broken my arm pretty bad before.

2. Ever ride in an ambulance?

Again, I am pretty lucky on this one. I haven't ridden in an ambulance for an emergency, although I have for fun!

3. How are you in a medical emergency? Panicked? Calm?

I like to think I am pretty calm, and I was when my Dad looked over at me and said "Molly, don't freak out but I think I am having a stroke." That was one of the scariest things I have ever had him say to me. He was having a stroke, but luckily it ended up being okay.

4. Do you have a garden? Flowers or veggies?

I don't, but since this is the first full summer in our house I really want to plan something!

5. When did you move out of your parents house?

I did for college at 18. Never looked back (except for that one summer I stayed there before I moved to another state)! I love my parents, but I love them even more living outside of their house!

A Dollop of My Life is hosting Facebook Friday so I thought I would give it a whirl....

Here are some of my status updates from this past week!

"I told Matt that Fletcher preferred his Mozart Baby Einstein video over the Da Vinci one and he said "Oh, I do too...it is so much easier to follow!" I didn't know Baby Einstein was hard to follow, Matt. Ha!"

"I am already getting hungry for Some Guys!" (a pizza place!)

"I was teasing Matt and said "I am not having sex tonight" and he said "I don't want to anyway" so I said "yeaaaaaaaah right" and he said "well, I was trying to use reverse psychology" to which I replied "that has to be believable to work". I win. "

"Fletcher just said "Mom" and "Mama" on video!"

That is actually kind of fun! I will have to do it again next week along with Five Question Friday!

Way To Go Fletch!

When I was pregnant with Fletcher I thought he would be in his crib by the time he was a month old. That isn't what happened. We put him in our room in his pack 'n play and it just stayed that way. It worked well for us, and I really enjoyed being able to wake up and take care of Fletcher, or just gaze at him while he slept. I decided I loved "co-sleeping".

He didn't sleep in our bed (besides when I had to take him in the guest room), but he did sleep in our room. It was honestly one of the best things we have done and I plan to do it with my other children in the future. It seemed to bring an even closer bond between us.

Until until a couple of weeks ago it worked out well, and then he started to get really restless at night and he knew Mommy was nearby to fulfill all of his needs. Needs that he didn't necessarily need, but just wanted. He was old enough now to not need multiple bottles at night, but he was still wanting them. Any movement by Matt or I would wake him up, so he wasn't resting as well. I decided it was time for his crib, he was weaning himself. Exactly what I wanted, for him to start to wean himself, and he was.

Last night was the first full night in his crib, and he did amazing! He did wake up twice, but it was only for a few minutes and then happily went back to sleep. I am so proud of him! The transition is going smoothly, and I am happy that I had the months prior to have him close by me.

It is a win, win in my book. I love that little boy.
